G'Day Japan! / Culture / Save the Date: Australian Sake Festival Sydney 2025

The Australian Sake Festival is returning to Sydney in 2025 — and this year’s event will be the biggest yet. Taking place at Carriageworks in Eveleigh on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September, the festival will feature over 100 booths, the highest number to date, bringing together a dynamic showcase of sake, food, culture and more.

With more than 400 varieties of sake and Japanese beverages to taste, this two-day celebration offers an immersive experience for both newcomers and dedicated sake fans.

Visitors will have the chance to meet brewers from Japan, taste rare and exciting styles of sake, explore a wide range of Japanese-inspired dishes, and enjoy cultural insights through seminars and products.

What to expect

Sake tastings

Over 400 types of sake, fruit liqueurs and Japanese spirits will be available to taste across the two days. Guests can meet sake brewers from Japan, as well as Australian importers and distributors. All tastings are included in the general admission ticket for patrons aged 18 and over.

Food and food products

The festival will feature a wide variety of Japanese-inspired food and food products from Sydney-based restaurants and producers. Whether you’re after traditional favourites or something new and unique, there will be plenty to explore.

Seminars and pairing experiences

The seminar line-up is expanding in 2025. Simone Maynard, Melbourne-based Sake Educator and recognised Sake Samurai, will host several free sessions tailored for beginners as well as ticketed sessions for the more experienced sake drinker. Her seminars will provide tips on sake selection, tasting and food pairing.

Additional seminars are coming soon.
