2025 FIM MotoGP™ World Championship Round 17 MOTUL Grand Prix of Japan will take place from 26th to 28th September at the renowned Mobility Resort Motegi, located just 2 hours from Tokyo. Leading up to this, a pre-event will take place in Tokyo on 24th September.

Highlights of the MotoGP™ Grand Prix of Japan
MotoGP™ motorbikes are of the highest class, equipped with 1,000cc engines, and engage in ultra-high-speed races, reaching over 360 km/h. During cornering, the bikes lean at angles of up to 66°, making the races truly spectacular and breathtaking with the world’s top riders.
The motorcycle racing at Mobility Resort Motegi features a stop & go course, characterised by frequent deceleration, cornering, and acceleration. It is known globally as one of the most demanding circuits for braking, making the race strategies for riders and teams in overtaking a key highlight.
Characteristics of the Course
Spanning 4.8 km with 14 challenging corners, the Motegi circuit is a true test of rider skill. The sharp 90° turns and tight hairpins provide thrilling overtaking opportunities, making cornering key to victory. Dramatic upsets are to be expected on the final corner, making it a circuit full of challenges that test both rider skill and motorcycle performance. Numerous corners feature elevation change, and no two are alike. The thrilling race will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Expectations for Japanese Riders and Manufacturers
At the Japan Grand Prix, keep an eye on Japanese rider Ai Ogura, who is in his 7th year as a professional racer. This year marks a significant milestone as Ogura becomes the first MotoGP™ rider to have come through the Asia Talent Cup, and his momentum and the passionate support from his home fans are also highlight.
Japan is home to renowned motorcycle manufacturers, including Honda and Yamaha. Their motorcycles have achieved numerous historic moments and victories in races worldwide. With Japanese manufacturers developing motorcycles that contend for podium finishes, and with the potential success of Japanese riders and teams, including Ai Ogura, this is a race that many fans are eagerly anticipating.
The Performance of Australian Rider
Australian rider Jack Miller will also be competing in this MotoGP™. After making an exceptional leap to the MotoGP™ class in 2015, Miller has since become one of the top riders. Known for his daring overtakes and intense racing skills, he is also popular for his cheerful and humorous personality off the track. Leveraging his years of experience with three different manufacturers, Miller will compete at the highest level in 2025 as a member of the Japanese Prima Pramac Yamaha Factory Team. All eyes will be on what kind of performance Miller can deliver at the Japan Grand Prix.

During the Japan Grand Prix period, special events, including engine start demonstrations, will be also held.

The Mobility Resort Motegi is full of activities that allow young children to enjoy and stay active, including athletic courses inspired by a rich forest and vehicles that can be driven by children as young as three years old. Indoors, there is the “Forest of Giant Nets, SUMIKA,” where visitors can play in a massive net about 11m high, the three-dimensional maze “Maze Palace in the Wood, ITADAKI” where you can experience the forest ecosystem, and a thrilling zipline, among other spots where everyone can lose track of time and have fun.

The Motegi GP Express direct bus service operates from major areas such as Tokyo and Shinjuku to Mobility Resort Motegi, the venue for the Japan Grand Prix. It takes approximately 180 minutes from Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station, offering easy access to the venue with advanced reservations.
If using public transportation from Tokyo Station, take the Shinkansen to Utsunomiya Station (approx. 50 minutes), then a taxi (approx. 60 minutes). Alternatively, from Ueno Station in Tokyo, take the Joban Line Limited Express to Mito Station (approx. 80 minutes), then a bus (approx. 90 minutes).
By car from the Tokyo area, it takes approximately 2 hours via the expressway. During the event period, in addition to regular parking tickets, special designated parking tickets for the popular course-side camping and tent areas are also available.
